My husband and the Inauguration!

Since Dave is in the Army and we live in the D.C. area he had to work. He went in at 2:30 in the morning! I'm not exactly sure what the temp. was that day since I was asleep but I do know it was freezing! What was his job you ask? To stand outside in the freezing weather on the parade route and salute any time the American flag came by. Poor guy was so cold when he got home at 9:00 at night. I'm so glad it's to early for me to go into labor because I'm not sure I would have been able to get a hold of him. I really don't want to have a baby by myself, even though my mom did it,(Aly) It's not something I really want to do.

As far the Inauguration goes I'm glad I didn't attempt to go. There where people everywhere. Like a two mile span of people in freezing weather. No Thank You! I was happy to watch it all unfold on T.V. in the warmth of my house. Although it wasn't the person we wanted to win it was still pretty historic! I only hope he will do good things for this country!

Funny Caleb

OK so I'm not usually one for fart jokes but I had to repeat this because I thought it was hilarious! I was laughing so hard! So here it goes. Dave has been trying to eat healthier so of course his diet has changed which in turn has made him gassy. The only problem is that he doesn't warn me before he lets loose. With my super sonic smelling power right now it gets really bad! Well the other night when we where putting the kids to bed and I got upset with him because of the fact that he gives me no warning. I practically have to run out of the room. When I was done yelling at him Caleb says " Well than why'd you marry him"? Dave and I just busted up laughing! He says funny stuff like that all of the time!

Aidan wants to change his name!

So now that school has started up again and the Holidays are over it's just Aidan and I at home again. He is obsessed with The Power Rangers. It doesn't matter which ones(there are different kinds) he likes them all. This the conversation I had with him today...

Aidan(pointing to my belly) says: what's this?
Me: Your baby sister, can you Say Violet?
Aidan:Violet
Me: what's your name?
Aidan:Aidan!
Me: Aidan what?
Aidan: Power Rangers
Me: Aidan Power Rangers Haggerty?
Aidan: Yep! The red one
Me: Not Aidan Jay
Aidan: nope, Power rangers

Lucky!

I can't believe how lucky we got! The Army owed Dave some money from when he was deployed to Africa. In order to get this money he had to have some paperwork to summit that showed he was owed this money. He has been searching and asking people if they had this one paper he needed. So he was at work the other day and happened to mention it to someone that he was looking for this specific paper. The guy he was talking to said I know where it is and opened this drawer where paperwork was filed. At the same time another guy had just told the person sitting at that desk to throw all of the paperwork in that same drawer away. I could hardly believe it when Dave told me. We where so lucky! The paperwork we needed to get paid would have been thrown away and we would have never gotten paid. I still can't believe it.

Mascara anyone?

This is what I woke up to on Sunday. Apparently while I was still aleep Aidan was in the bathroom with Dave while he was getting ready for church. Dave could see that Aidan was grabbing things off of the bathroom counter but not paying to much attention. When he finally looked to see what Aidan was doing he had goteen into my mascara and put it all over his face. I guess I need to put my make-up where he can't reach it.

New Years Day

New Years day Dave got up with the kids and let me sleep in!! Thank you baby! He also made a great breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage! Yummy! I have an awesome husband.I am so spoiled! We basically just hung out that day. Then Dave realized he had not spent his Home Depot gift card from my mom. Thank you very much!! So off to Home Depot we went. When we got there Caleb said I don't like this store, all it sells is wood and not toys. I chuckled and said don't worry some day you will like this store. I on the other hand like Home Depot. I usually find things there I want. Like this time I found all of there holiday decor 50% off. I got some smokin deals! After Home Depot we decided to eat at Chevys for dinner. Yum mexican food!! It was pretty much bed time after that so we all went to bed. I feel like this year has gone by fast, at least for me. Maybe it's because I am pregnant and have something to look forward to or the fact that Caleb stated school this year. Whatever it was I can't believe it is 2009 already. This year is a big year for us. We are bringing a daughter into the world, I am turning 30, Dave and I will have been married 9 years and maybe even we will move. Depending on his job of course. It will be a fun year and I can't wait to see what the new year will bring.

New Years Eve

This whole week Dave has gotten off of early from work!! Yay love it when that happens! New Years Eve we had family movie night! We do that as often as we can. My boys love it. We make popcorn and have brownies or candy. The boys get comfy on the floor which leaves the couch for Dave and I to cuddle on. We watched The Bee movie this time. Caleb wanted to stay up so he could see the fireworks(I guess he thought there would be some) but I told him maybe when he got a little older he could try and stay up till midnight. After the kids where in bed Dave played xbox 360 and I scrapbooked. We weren't paying attention to the clock because when I looked at it it said 12:01. I was really sad we had missed it. Dave said it's ok we can still kiss.

I forgot to add

I forgot to add that Aidan got a bunch of Power Rangers action figures and Caleb got the bug oven that he had been asking for all year. Major points for aunt Robin!! Thanks! Also here is me in front of the Christmas tree. I am 30 weeks and HUGE!

Christmas

We had a good Christmas this year! Since the boys are getting a little older and understand things a little better they where very excited! We set up our fake tree this year which Dave hates but we didn't have a whole lot of time. Dave works a lot. The boys didn't seem to mind they enjoyed putting the ornaments on the tree. The Sunday before Christmas I dressed the boys in ties and suit coats and tried I repeat tried to get a picture of the in front of the tree. Aidan of course was being a stinker and didn't let me. Christmas Eve we web cammed with Grandma Haggerty so she could see the boys open there jammies she got them. Thanks Leslie the boys love them! Christmas morning the boys went down stairs before us to see what Santa had brought them. Then they came and woke us up so they could open presents! Caleb got lots of G.I. Joes and Aidan got much needed clothes. They also each got spiderman slippers, books, and The Animated stories of The Book of Mormon complete with coloring book and action figure. Thanks mom and dad the boys love it! After everything was opened we had some yummy cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate! We had a great rest of the day just being together.

Thanksgiving!

Since Dave didn't get that much time off and plane tickets are so expensive we had Thanksgiving here at home. We did have a visitor though. A single soldier that had no where to go came and spent the day with us. We seem to be the go to house for that sort of thing. Dave is the master cooker in our family so he had the task of cooking the turkey. Everything he makes is so yummy so of course I don't mind. We basically just hung out. The boys of course played video games and hung all over Chris. Good thing he likes kids because my boys can get pretty wild sometimes. I'm not really sure what I was doing but I guess I was busy because I didn't take any pictures. I was probably sleeping.

Wow I am bad at this blogging thing!

Ok so I know it's been way to long since I have updated my blog but I have been very busy and tired. I am growing a person after all! Let me start with an update. Hopefully I won't make this blog too long. We had both boys birthdays in September so we celebrated them together. It was just us so I baked each boy there own little cake and had them blow out the candles at the same time. They are both getting so big! Caleb turned six and Aidan turned three. Then came my ultrasound!! It's a GIRL!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!! Can you tell?! I had to go to my ultrasound all by myself because Dave had to work:( I cried and cried when she told me it was a girl. I asked her how sure she was and she told me 99.9% and not to worry because she has been doing ultrasounds for 7 years. I had wait about a half hour after my appointment before I could get a hold of Dave to tell him. It was hard because everyone wanted to know and I wanted to tell everyone but I had to tell Dave first. He said he wasn't surprised because he had been thinking that it was a girl the whole time. I can't wait for girly things and bows and nail polish etc.
